Defining the approach

Requirements gathering and discovery workshops were conducted with Injekta key personnel. These insights allowed W3.Digital to rapidly plan and recommend a technology approach.

The application needed to connect a number of audiences—each with a unique set of requirements and communication needs. Through rapid prototyping we developed an intuitive interface that allowed each user to input required data, manage relationships within the ecosystem and deliver a soil diagnosis.

A working prototype of the application was developed and tested with existing clients in regional areas.

Putting the data to work

W3.Digital recommended a database (Oracle MySQL DB) that would provide value for money, achieve significant efficiency gains and scale with business growth. Analysis and testing of this data in a live environment presented a range of new opportunities for creating deeper insights for particular user types. This allowed us to further develop the algorithm to deliver additional value for agronomists and their clients.

A critical part of the project was to work closely with an existing laboratory service (external project stakeholders) to achieve the seamless integration with a third-party system. The integration allowed the application to remove the need for manual handling of complex data sets.

Delivery included:

  • Scenario mapping of the user ecosystem to identify economical workflows for each of the audiences. The user interface was designed, tested and refined to deliver rewarding user experiences
  • Developing an algorithmic process and prototype testing allowed us to bring data together in a meaningful way and help our client to understand the value of data in maximising commercial outcomes
  • Injekta have continued to work with W3.Digital to roll out the second phase of the application, which will include the integration of additional external data sources, further development of the algorithmic process, and SaaS functionality.

We were seeking assistance to commercialise new technology with a ‘software as a service’ elements and needed to find a partner that bought development skills in the digital design technical space as well as great marketing strategy and execution. W3 provided this combination perfectly. There is a significant depth of experience in W3 and a very engaged but ‘down to earth’ approach to working with the client. I would recommend engaging W3.Digital and experiencing their tried and tested approach.
