Netball Australia

Netball Australia is the peak governing body for the most popular team participation sport in Australia.

W3.Digital were engaged to develop a digital strategy that would provide better experiences for their fans and participants.

What we did

W3 ran a consultation process with key stakeholders throughout Netball Australia to map out a digital infrastructure plan. The plan lead to improvements and efficiencies in marketing communications, membership management and competition management.

Importantly, W3 also mapped the fan journey, identifying stages of engagement and uncovering areas that were under-utilised and could be improved. Our approach proved that the implementation of a new sports management system could help sporting organisations attract major sponsors.

Netball Australia first engaged W3 in late 2010 to assist with the development of a Technology Master Plan for the sport. The approach they took went beyond just looking at technology; their customer experience approach included a vision of developing our brand online and using membership data to drive commercial outcomes. Results

W3 delivered a digital customer experience blueprint that means Netball Australia can:

  • Manage all internal and external digital touch points.
  • Create tailored experiences and manage mature member and fan relationships.
  • Create new revenue opportunities.

W3’s strategy is now driving major change within Australia’s netball community.

Subsequently, we were engaged to develop the network of websites and web applications that brought the blueprint to life for both Netball Australia and State Associations.

More recently we have been working with W3 in a more technical nature. Their talented team of designers and developers have created our new suite of websites – giving us a bold new look with the functionality we need.
Our work with the team at W3 has allowed us to better engage our fans and members. They have assisted us in identifying opportunities in the digital space and have also played an important role in delivering the systems needed to support our vision for the sport’s future.
